Trade Shows
For international real estate in Internet age, the trade show may be the one time when business contacts have an opportunity to meet face-to-face. Trade shows offer networking, comparison shopping, cost-effective sales contact, education, an opportunity for keeping an eye on the competition, and exposure to new ideas, products, and trends. For exhibitors, it is an opportunity to concentrate the sales staff in one location and market to decision-makers as well as maintain market visibility and position. Trade Missions Real estate trade missions develop relationships, build networks, educate participants about other markets, and showcase development opportunities. By contrast, many industries and government organizations, including the U.S. Department of Commerce, understand the concept of a trade mission as an event during which business deals are transacted between companies. Although a real estate trade mission might more accurately be termed a study tour, within the REALTOR® organization, it is a market- or country-specific trip focused on development of relationships and members’ business opportunities.
