Embodied Ecology is my way of languaging my conscious experience; this echoing of our physicality with the Land.

A solo installation e-Exhibition of Narelle's photography, Australian Skin, will be held May 12 in New York City at Yoga Union.

I grew up on Sydney's beaches; my father once a surf life saver. Its landscape is etched in my tissues, a cellular memory. These images evoke visceral connection to this place. I am awash, immersed in fluids. The sandstone of Sydney echoes and holds my bones; a living resonance. Water weeds my organs and mesenteries, rock pools the deep interior of my pelvis. Markings on rocks - my bone. Home.

When my children were young, we spent a decade living in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. Canyons, escarpments, ridges.

Layered sandstone of my skin and heart.
Breath of the Land through tall eucalypts, whispering my history here.

Now it's the rainforest at Brisbane's edge;  dense palpable humidity drenches me, liquid air; cricket and frog symphony playing the shuddering night.
