A palette of choice from the rich smorgasboard of the Body: Songs of the Spine - spinal anatomy, spinal pathology and Yogasana Be still... and listen. Move. Experience this wondrous architecture in motion. Search the sensation
of the spine as felt and known terrain. In asana. What can you feel? What do you Know? .....what can you change! Explore disc lesions, facet joint arthropathy, and an introduction to scoliosis and lower back pain We discover the geography of the bony spine, its possible regional movements, spinal discs, ligaments, musculature. Through processes of embodiment in movement, this information is explored, developed and applied to asana. Investigating stiff spinal segments, kyphosis, scoliosis, hyperlordosis, and more, you will come away with an experiential and conceptual understanding of function and dysfunction within the curving river of the spine.
The sound of asymmetry - Yoga, the Spine and Scoliosis A deeper and more specific study of this landscape; its anatomy, physiologic sequelae, natural history. Working with yoga props, particularly the ropes and trestle, to access, clarify and penetrate the body’s deep interior and intelligence. Decompress, lengthen, strengthen, stabilise, mobilise, sensitise. Developmental movement patterns, the fluid systems of the body, lush organs, embryology and craniosacral rhythm all inform these explorations.

Embodying the
heart and lungs The lungs and heart offer deep support to the thoracic spine, the shoulders, arms, hands, the neck. Through anatomy and imagery processes, we explore the chambers and valves of the heart, follow the pathway of the blood and access the uplifted support of the great vessels. By becoming aware of the nature of the qualities of blood throughout our internal fluid channels, we discover the potential for textural and changing means of expression and being in asana and movement. Rhythm, breath, resonant fluid imprint and refreshment. The source and support to reach into space. Anatomy and embryology. Rainforest of the lungs in fernlike unfurling; pranayama. Sculpting and in-forming scoliosis from the inside-out. Contact Narelle |
