From New Zealand, European and London 2010 "Songs of the Spine" and "Finding Core Balance" Workshops... "Who said anatomy's dry - not Narelle!"; "Narelle is a knowlegable, humorous and passionate anatomist" "Integrated everything"; "Fantastic, informative and completely relevant" "the experiential component feels fresh and invaluable" "the FIG 8 changed EVERYTHING!" "No more back pain with this Figure of 8-amazing, after years!" "Great metaphors. Yes! found psoas! Thanks Narelle-you bring anatomy to life-hard as hell to do" From Brisbane classes... Yoga has given me a means by which I can actively, consciously deal with and lessen chronic physical pain. This is the reason I first came to yoga. But unexpectedly, yoga has taught me so much more: it has helped to redefine and broaden what success means to me, given me a way to learn to relax and stop and be, and how to listen to what my body is trying to tell me. Thanks Narelle. Tamara L I
look forward to class each week! It still amazes me why I have put up
with back pain for so long - you have awakened my awareness of my back
and made me challenge myself with your classes. I am doing things I
never thought possible. Philippa
S I have been attending backcare yoga classes for several months now. Narelle’s focused techniques and use of props have been extremely helpful. I had never been to such a focused and helpful yoga class before this! When beginning the class, I had chronic headaches. Through practice of specific asanas, I have naturally come to have better posture. Now I very rarely have headaches, and if I do, I know it means I need to do more yoga! Laura T I've
benefited enormously from attending Narelle's Backcare classes and would
recommend them to anyone with back related issues! My back will now
tolerate sitting up even after a long day, and I no longer feel the need
to be "careful" with my back in the same way, because it feels a lot
stronger, more supported, and very 3-dimensional. The imagery Narelle
offers us to think about our "internal architecture" and how we use it
contributes significantly to my experience, and her knowledge of anatomy
is impressive. I've especially enjoyed starting to learn about the many
"spirals", which seem to contribute to the sense of 3-dimensionality,
and offer a technique for further improving the effectiveness of many
asana. Yay Narelle - I'm looking forward to many more classes! Anne W Practicing Iyengar yoga with Narelle teaches me to yield, to focus, to push, to stretch: to reach for new experience, sensation and understanding. It brings joy, energy and calm. It extends and strengthens me - body and mind. Maria V, student of over 6 years. |
