This potent yoga practice is most easily recognisable by the public through its precise and incisive anatomical detail within the landscape of instruction. The effect is both a refining-sharpening of a practitioner's penetration of the physical body, and the cultivation of a particular quality of attention.....Mental clarity, poise and equanimity ensue. Sensitivity, subtlety and the capacity for stillness within sensation and action.

Equipment or “props”, (blankets, straps, blocks, ropes, chairs, wooden benches), enable students  and practitioners to work appropriately and safely within their capacity, offering support when one is fatigued, recovering from injury or illness. Props elicit a keen understanding of the direction, intent and movement within a pose, clarifying and broadening the experience of the asana.

The sequencing and timing (or "holdings"),of asana impacts the physiology and psychology of the practitioner. Over time, with consistent practice and/or class attendance, one is exposed to oneself, to a palette of experience; change, presence and awareness become possible!

Active engagement, self-observation, surrender.
