Who?
Anybody can use it, so long as they have Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice Calc (or another program that can open files in those formats)!
It was created by myself (my NaNo username is "salzke") for any NaNoer who finds it useful.

What?
A spreadsheet designed for use throughout NaNoWriMo.

Where?
Head over to the 'Downloads' page for the latest version.

When?
During November, of course, when you're writing 50 000 words.

Why? .
I was inspired by Atalanta's spreadsheet in 2007 and decided to "roll my own" in 2008. This year, it remains basically the same but dates have been updated and a few minor changes have been made.

Features

The spreadsheet consists of five tabs:

SUMMARY TAB:

This is an overview of your NaNo progress. Until November 1, when you get started, it will be pretty blank, but throughout the month. it becomes more interesting. It includes:
  • how many days remaining until NaNo starts/ends
  • your word count goal (editable)
  • how many words you've written
  • how long you've written for
  • your average words per day and per hour
  • how many words you have left to write/how many words you've exceeded your goal by
  • if you will finish in time, and if so, which date
  • a pie chart and percentage indication of your progress
  • an automatically calculated goal for the day
  • how many words you have written today
  • how long you've written for today
  • your average words per hour today
  • how many more words you need to write to meet today's goal/how many words you've exceeded it by
  • an estimate of how long it will take you to reach today's goal
DATA TAB:

This is where you enter the majority of your information. You input your running word count day, time worked, a rating of your morale on a scale from 0-10 and, if you like, a comment, each day and this information is used to calculate information on other sheets as well as:
  • words written today
  • goal for each day
  • rate per minute and per hour
WARS TAB:

This can be used to keep track of word wars you're involved in throughout the month. You input the date, the length of the war, starting and ending word counts, position placed, and the number of WriMos involved. This sheet also calculates:
  • words written in the war
  • rate per minute and per hour
  • the number of wars you have been involved in
  • how many times you have placed first, second, and third
PROGRESS & MORALE CHARTS:

These charts use information from the 'Data' tab and present the information graphically.
