Projects

  • NetE (Old name Network Management Simulator (NMSim))

A network emulator focus on wireless network management.
  • Camera Surveillance System over Wireless Mesh Network

In this project, we setup fifteen routerborad 532A wireless routers in UMass Lowell, Computer Science Department build across 3rd floor and 2nd floor, implemented a 802.11 based wireless mesh network with up to 3 hops routing path.
  1. Wireless mesh network with multiple radios installed
  2. Camera surveillance performance over wireless network
  3. Knowledge based network management system
  4. Modified Madwifi driver to grab link quality information

Some previous projects

  • Tuber Coder/Decoder in FPGA

Implemented Turbo coder/decoder in Altera 20K400 FPGA by Verilog language.
following 3GPP standard, rate up to 2Mbps (when iterative num = 5, iterative length = 256).
  • Viterbi Coder/Decoder in FPGA

Implemented a viterbi coder/decoder in Altera 20K400 FPGA by VHDL language.
System clock input 40MHz, decoder rate up to 5Mbps. Constrain length 7 and trace back 32.
