I was born in 1950.  From my earliest years I was interested in art, taking numerous classes in high school and going on to graduate from University of California at Davis with double major in art and English.  After graduation, I received an advanced placement at Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, where I studied Illustration for four semesters.  I moved to San Francisco where I worked at a design studio for several years.  That was followed by approximately 22 years of working as a free-lance package designer/illustrator for a design studio in San Rafael.  During that time I married, moved to Menlo Park, and raised three boys with my wonderful, supportive husband.  For the last four years, I have had time once again to pursue my interest in fine art, taking numerous classes at the Palo Alto Art Center and the Palo Alto Art League.  I have also studied with Bay Area artists Rebecca Alzofon and Bob Gerbracht, as well as with Tony Ryder, (Santa Fe).   My artistic interests cover portraiture, figurative work, and landscapes.  Whatever I draw or paint must speak to me in some fundamental way.  It might be the quirkiness of the subject.  It could  be a sense of atmosphere or drama.  It might be the excitement of color, or it could be just a sense of time and place.  Whatever quality has drawn me to that subject is what I try to convey in the finished piece.
