Global Mala Day Nairobi


 September 21st, 2007, United Nations Recreation Center

Beginning September 21 st and running through Sept 23rd, in more then 35 countries, hundreds of yoga studios and thousands of yogis worldwide gathered as a part of the Global Mala Project to undertake Yoga for Peace. 

 

This time frame also marks the autumn equinox and the United Nation's International Peace Day.  

 
Here in Kenya right in the heart of the UN Recreation Center, the Sarakasi Trust* joined hands with local acrobats, yoga teachers, students and other organizations to come together to create celebrations, raising consciousness of yoga for Kenyan acrobats and funds to establish a yoga center for yoga training for Kenyans.  It was a day of peaceful yoga, acroyoga and spectacular acrobatic performance.
