Tammy P. Forrester has been at IntraHealth International since August 1998, serving as the Senior Grants and Contracts Manager for the past 5 years. IntraHealth International became a non-profit organization in 2003, which was a department within the School of Medicine in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Contracts, Grants and Procurement Department at IntraHealth has the principal responsibility for structuring and executing donor agreements, and subagreements, in administrative compliance with the documents and the applicable donor regulations. Contracts is responsible for comprehending and communicating to other parts of IntraHealth the relevant financial, legal and administrative requirements of all contracts. She spent a good bit of time writing policies and procedures for the new organization, as well as conducting training on policies and USAID compliance regulations. Tammy has traveled to many of IntraHealth’s field offices to provide technical assistance to the projects including: Rwanda, Ethiopia, South Africa, Namibia, Uganda, Dominican Republic and Armenia. Tammy graduated from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro with a double major in political science and communications.
Deborah Hanley, recently joined ACDI/VOCA as Vice President of Awards and Compliance. Deborah has more than 25 years of experience supporting international NGOs and domestic corporations in the execution of grants and contracts both in the U.S. and overseas. As a member of the Contracts Department at the Academy of Educational Development for 12 years Deborah was responsible for all aspects of contract and grant management including: budgeting, compliance, procurement and staff training. During those years, she was seconded to the BASICS Joint Venture, working as the Field Office Manager, overseeing the administrative field functions, including local subcontracting. In addition, she spent two years in Ethiopia as Deputy Chief of Party where she was responsible for finance and administration of a national Education reform project. Deborah also has extensive experience in acquisition regulations, having spent many years working in for-profit, civilian and defense consulting firms.
Libby Spader, Director of Workshops, has been with InsideNGO for eight years, and has been its Director of Operations and Webmaster, in addition to organizing its overseas workshops. Before coming to InsideNGO, she worked as a medical education event facilitator for pharmaceutical firms and for many years as a teacher, specializing in the training of trainers and discovery/participatory learning techniques. Libby is a trainer for InsideNGO’s Training of Trainers course and works with InsideNGO’s trainers to increase the participatory nature of technical training.
Eric Walker, VP, Corporate Services, PATH, and Chairperson of InsideNGO, has extensive experience working with USAID. Eric has worked for four different Private Voluntary Organizations that have received grants, cooperative agreements and contracts from USAID and numerous other funders. Eric has led many Association training workshops including our annual Indirect Cost Workshop, USAID Rules and Regs workshops, partnering, cost-share, and risk assessment, and Working with USAID. Eric's very approachable training style combines a broad range of experience and a practitioner's approach with a good sense of humor. |
