This flier describes the first Bharatanatyam solo of Nadhi Thekkek in Houston, TX. The program will consist of a variety of pieces choreographed by her U.S. based teachers Sundara Swaminathan and Padmini Chari. Additional items based on concept and choreography of Padma Shri Adyar Lakshman and Padma Bushan Kalanidhi Narayanan will also be performed.
She will be accompanied by musicians from Bangalore.
Nadhi currently lives in Houston with her husband Roy and is a graduate student at Rice University. She completed her dance debut (arangetram) in 2001 and has danced in various productions in California, Texas, and Louisiana since. Performances include but are not limited to Tales of Temple Dance (CA), Maata Parashakthi (TX), Reflections (CA). and Kala Tarang (LA). She has also been selected to participate in the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival on three separate occasions with Kala Vandana Dance Company.
