NEWRY

FILM CLUB

Enjoy the collective experience of watching a film and chatting about it afterwards. Watching a film without discussing its merits is to enjoy only half the film experience.

Newry Film Club is a non-political and non-profit-making organisation.

We are a registered film society with the British Federation of Film Societies (BFFS) and our aim is to advance the education of the public in the appreciation of the art of film.

From traditional classics and limited releases to educational and contemporary foreign films, we hope there will be something for everyone.

Newry Film Club is a community film club open to all. For a relaxed and sociable evening, come along to our screenings.

Interested in joining the club or just coming along to a screening phone Newry Arts Centre at 028 3031 3180 or contact us by email nacfilmclub@googlemail.com. Screenings take place in Newry Sean Hollywood Arts Centre. Come early to meet other members for a sociable chat with drinks/coffee 7.15 onwards. Films start at 8.00pm.

The film club was never intended as a money making venture. All of the organisers still work on a voluntary basis (and put some serious hours in, believe me). The main source of finance is the membership subscription. This allows the committee to plan ahead for the season. Any money made on the screenings is ploughed straight back into hiring great films and obtain the expensive Non-Theatrical licence for each film.

Membership & Fees
Our success is due to the loyalty and enthusiasm of our members. We are delighted to welcome new members, otherwise simply turn up as a guest and pay the price for a single screening.
  • Since we are a club, we have to ask you to become a member - not only are their benefits for those attending more than one screening, but helps us book great films and obtain the expensive Non-Theatrical licence for each film.
  • Full Membership: £35 - this entitles you to free entry to all films for the year *
  • Guests: £5 admission

* Membership will be offered at a discounted rate for group bookings and for individuals wanting to join later in the year.
