General Information

Ms. Trinh's Class Welcome Presentation

Our Classroom

The classroom environment was created to help students achieve maximum success. The classroom (and school) environment is important since it is where students spend half their day. It is a place where academic, social and moral development can be fostered. To help support this environment, students are encouraged to ask questions and become active participants in their learning. The classroom will also highlight students’ work on the bulletin boards.  Please feel free to stop by our classroom before school begins to see your child’s classroom and their work.

Classroom Expectations/Rules

Students are expected to follow all classroom rules as well as the school’s Code of Conduct.

Homework Policy

Homework is given out Monday through Thursday with the occasional weekend homework and projects.  Homework is used to help reinforce ideas and concepts that the students are learning. Please review and check all homework that your child brings home. Your child will be receiving a Homework Sheet where they will write down their homework each day and you will initial if homework is completed.

Generally, homework will consist of:

    1. Reading for at least 20 minutes and then obtaining a signature.

    2. Spelling - Spelling Words are given out on Monday with all the HW assignments for the week.

    3. Math - Students will have at least one review page and another homework assignment focusing on that day's lesson.

    4. Writing - Will be based on their Reading and Writing Workbook.

Helping Your Child Succeed

Please help your child to succeed in school by becoming active participants in their education. The following are some suggestions to help your son or daughter succeed:

             Review the homework with them

Ask them questions about their work that requires them to explain it

Create a quiet place for them to study

Have them read to you everyday

Classroom Library

To help your child succeed in reading, please provide them with a reading book that they can read at home and at school. I have brought my personal library for the student to use.  Students who borrow my books, must keep them in good condition and bring put them back in the library when they are done reading the book. The classroom library is similar to the public library and holds the same responsibilities.

If you would like to speak to me regarding your child, I can best be reached in the mornings prior to class beginning.  You can also call the school or send a note with your child, and I will be more than happy to call or schedule an appointment with you.
