This is a 1979 Balboa 8.2 (27 ft), which was produced in the USA. The Balboa has been designed by Lyle Hess and was produced by Coastal Recreation Inc. USA
We are her owner since 1994 and renamed her into SARI.

 

SARI's mooring place is Monnickendam, which is the famous fisherman place in the Netherlands. Monnickendam is located at the Gouwzee. The sailing area is mainly the Markermeer and IJsselmeer, but SARI is also equipped to go offshore (Northsea and Waddenzee) There are two routes to go offshore. One is to sail via Amsterdam to IJmuiden (8 hours to Northsea) and the other way is via Markermeer and IJsselmeer to Den Oever or Kornwerd (9 hours to Waddenzee). More pictures of SARI.

SARI is strong, seaworthy, spacious, and the lifting keel is a favorite, since we have shallow lakes and seas. In strong sea weather she performs well. Since SARI sails in winter as well, she is not taken out of the water during winter. Once per two years she goes ashore for a two weeks inspection and maintenance. 

She got an under boat epoxy recovery in the year 2000 to make her suitable to stay for long periods on water. Since we own the boat, some modifications have been made to make sailing more safe, comfortable, and suitable to go on sea.
