The story of your REAF (Recreational Enhanced Area for Fishing)
As the building of reefs continues to grow and fishermen learn more about what works really well, what doesn't work so well and so on, it is hoped that this site will grow in content submitted by fishermen in the interests of growing more fish for the future. Every REAF has it own unique story, arising from the people initiating its construction, those that physically built the modules and those on the sea who deployed the modules that make the reef. The role of stories in helping conservation efforts is well evidenced in indigenous cultures. Perhaps this is a diminishing art and one that we'd like to see encouraged here by publishing your REAF story. No matter where in the World you might be, you might like to add a page and your own content to make this a more interesting and useful site. Email me as the the current Administrator with your content and pictures and I'll add it on. reafnz at gmail.com ( If you can put the @ symbol in - I write it like this to slow the spammers out looking for email addresses on the web. Thanks) Our other web sites with email address listed are at www.reaf.org.nz, www.memoryreefs.com, www.marinelifetours.com. May the fish be with you, Lloyd |
