Directed by Tony Gatlif

Tony Gatlif follows his popular Gadjo Dilo with another visually striking film about gypsy culture. Two families in Spain are at war with each other when a member of one kills a prominent member of the other. The murderer goes into hiding, leaving his brother to defend the rest of the clan from the victim's family's revenge. Their plan is to kill the accused's mentally challenged son as vengeance, but the boy's uncle wants to find a way to stop years of blood feuding without sacrificing innocent blood, especially of someone he loves so dearly. Photographed in the sunburnt, rural regions of Spain and full of gorgeous music, the film relies too heavily on cliched characters (particularly in a story too similar to Walter Salles' Behind The Sun) but is not the worst way to spend a couple of hours.
