Alice In Wonderland gets quite an curious interpretation in this wonderful comedy by Martin Scorsese. Griffin Dunne plays a straight-laced New York yuppie who ventures to SoHo late one night to meet up with a beautiful woman (Rosanna Arquette) he met earlier that day. After the evening takes a turn for the less-desired, he tries to go home but for some reason every single way in which he could get back uptown is impossible. Now, stuck downtown in the middle of the night without a friend in the world, his experiences become increasingly strange until the whole thing seems like an utter nightmare. This delightfully quirky film is one of the most original and daring that Scorsese has ever produced.
