Lindsey Sutton currently lives in Long Beach, CA and enjoys all that coastal living has to offer. She loves to surf with her husband or just stroll up and down the beach hoping to catch a glimpse of Catalina Island on a clear day. She started out on another coast – the Gulf of Mexico – and moved from Kingsville to Houston, TX with her parents and younger sister in 1980. In 1988, they departed from Houston and headed across the Atlantic Ocean, to settle in Cobham, Surrey, England until 1995. She said her goodbyes to long-time friends in the U.K. and trotted back to Texas with her parents and three siblings, to finish high school at Plano Senior High, graduating in 1997. Lindsey went on to college in Fredericksburg, VA, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2001 from Mary Washington College (now University of Mary Washington). She also worked for a spell back in Dallas, TX at the International Small Business Development Center, working with agricultural producers in the Dallas and surrounding areas. Her two experiences studying abroad while at Mary Washington, one in Córdoba, Spain and the other in Mérida, Mexico, left her longing for more international study. She headed back east to pursue her MA in Latin American Studies from the Elliot School of International Affairs at The George Washington University in Washington D.C. and graduated in 2005. Lindsey is currently a PhD candidate finishing up her dissertation at Arizona State University. |
