Check back here as the race date approaches for the latest info.

Pre-Race Instructions

The race is right around the corner and, with over 200 Adult and Youth athletes already signed up,  we are working hard on the final preparations for the race.  It is important that you read this memo thoroughly as it will provide specific instructions and details about race day.

Registration

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS CLOSING 8:00 PM ON FRIDAY --  If you can not register online there will be a $5 walk-in fee for race-day registration for Youths and a $10 walk-in fee for Adults, which will take place at the race headquarters at North Beach and will be open to 8:45am for Adults and to 11:45am for the Youth races.
We are could sell out and you may not get to race even if you show up so register online if possible.

If you did pre-register online you will still need to stop by registration on race day to get your body marked and pick up your race packet.

ALL athletes are required to show photo ID. NO ID, NO RACE, NO EXCEPTIONS.  Every single participant in your race must have a photo ID, this includes all relay participants. Youth athletes without an ID must be accompanied by a parent/guardian with a photo ID.

Annual USAT members are required to bring their membership card to each event. If their card has been lost, they can download and print out a temporary one at http://www.usatmembership.com

Race Day Parking

Race parking is on Carby Street at Cat Rock Parking Lot and in an adjacent field. There will be people and signs to direct you the parking areas.  Parking is limited so we are asking that you ride your bike to the race if you can (that can be your warm-up) or carpool.  Late arrivals may be asked to park in satellite lots, thus needing more time to get to the race start/transition area.

Directions:

You can use your favorite online map to find 80 Carby Street, Westwood, MA 02090 and from there follow the signs for parking your car and walking to North Beach.

  • Helmets -No modifications may be made to the helmet.  Helmets must be worn as they were purchased.  Helmets must be worn at all times while on your bike.
  • Chin Straps - Chin straps must be buckled at all times when on a bicycle. Do not unbuckle your chin strap unless you are off your bicycle
  • Transition Area - All equipment must be place in the properly designated assigned bike corral.  The wheel of the bicycle must be down on the side of the assigned space.  All participants must return their bicycles to an upright position in their designated space.  All handle bar ends must be solidly plugged.  No participant shall bring any glass containers into the transition area.

  • Unsportsmanlike Conduct - Foul, harsh, abusive language or other unsportsmanlike conduct directed at race officials, volunteers, spectators or fellow athletes is forbidden

Final Miscellaneous Notes

  • Off road races require bikes with fat tires. Road bikes are not a good idea.
  • Extreme weather may result in delayed starting times.
  • The Noanet Pond water is usually cool enough at this time of year to allow for the use of wetsuits, though they are certainly not required.
  • Do yourself a big favor by getting to the event early and having time to park, pick up your packet, get marked, and set up your transition area.
  • ·   Again, please consider biking or carpooling to this event as we have limited parking.
