RCR Supports University Program with Car, Hauler WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --Richard Childress joined students, faculty and staff from Winston-Salem State University’s motorsports management program to receive a special thank you from the school for the race car and hauler RCR is providing to the university. “We were pleased to be able to say ‘thank you’ and to recognize Richard Childress and the staff at RCR for all of their support,” said Dr. Travis Teague, coordinator of the Motorsports Management Program. “This donation is a major step in our vision of having a race car for our educational purposes as well as being able to utilize it as a great marketing piece for the entire university.” RCR donated the car to the university and is leasing the hauler to them for $1 a year. The celebration and thank you was held October 5 at the RCR Museum parking lot. WSSU is the only four-year university in the country and the only HBCU (Historically Black College and University) to offer a Bachelor of Science degree program in Motorsport Management. The program prepares students for entry-level positions in motorsports operations, marketing and event planning

At the University Park campus, approximately 2,168 Penn State degrees were conferred on Saturday (Aug. 14), including four associate degree recipients and 1,391 baccalaureate degree recipients at the 10 a.m. commencement, and 495 master's degree recipients and 278 doctoral degree recipients at the 2:30 p.m. commencement, both at the Bryce Jordan Center. University-wide, Penn State welcomed a total of 2,846 new alumni through the end of the summer semester.
