So as most of you have heard, ComputerTraining.com or ComputerTraining.edu is now closed.

I don't know how most of you feel about this turn of events, but I wanted voice my opinion.

In November of 2008 I heard an unbelievable commercial on the radio about working hard and making 50K a year.  Normally I would say that if it seems too good to be true then it probably is, but after taking the test I was assured that I had done better than most and that I was a good candidate for this school.

After meeting with Steve Beckman a few times I felt that I could learn a lot from this school but since I had bad credit I couldn't secure a loan.  I worked out an arrangement with the school to only pay half of my $28000 tuition up front (which I find is an arbitrary number since everyone is quoted a different price).

I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent in class and I learned a lot of stuff that I use now even though I've gone over to the Linux side.  I wouldn't change the time I spent with Steve in class for anything in the world.

Many of you know that I was fired in January of 2009 and despite everything that we were told about job placement I never got one interview out of any leads from job placement at the school.

I would be hesitant to jump on the bandwagon and claim that this school was a scam before getting all of the facts.  Remember that we were in a real class with a real instructor and had access to real job placement people who really sat with us and worked on resumes and interview tactics.

So what does any of this have to do with us now?

1.    Did you get an education?   Yes
2.    Did you get any certifications?  If yes then good for you.  If no                   then what is stopping you?
3.    Did you get books?  Yes.  Don't get rid of these because they will               come in handy later.
4.    Did you get software?  Yes.  Don't get rid of these, but use them to           keep sharp in your use of the software.
5.    Did you get help with your resume?  Yes

Now for the dose of reality.

1.    This was a company that was created to make someone money and           now they are closed.
2.    This company will never get you a job.
3.    Now we must take what we've learned and forge our own careers           with what we have.

I wish everyone the best and have high hopes that as the economy changes so will our fortunes.
