At the Roma 2011 Gathering**, there will be an opportunity provided in the program for a 90-minute panel discussion. The precise format of the discussion has not been selected or determined, and input from alumni and former staff is welcomed. **and at any gathering of alumni and former staff... just grab a camera and record something for the archives. The following topics are proposed: "Tell us something about the founder of Aiglon College. What do you remember about John Corlette? How were you hired? What guidance did he give you about running your classes? What notable comments did he make in private or in public that indicate something of his philosophy?" The proposed format of the panel discussion is for the former staff members to assemble on a stage or in a circle in a large room. The audience will be alumni. The panel of staff members selects one of their number to be the moderator and the session begins by greeting the audience and the moderator asks the topic questions (plus any additional questions that are proposed). At some point members of the audience will no doubt ask questions. VIRTUAL ATTENDEES: Skype connections Youtube uploads could take place at 5-minute intervals. The DVD will be made available for a nominal charge (perhaps $5 per DVD, with net proceeds going to the scholarship fund). ***We record the sunny hours. At the end of 90 minutes the session will be ended and following a round of applause a short meditation could be given, perhaps a reading by Christopher Reynolds (invited) of one of JC's meditations. Proposed: Alumni can work together to pay for the travel, food and lodging costs of former staff members. Those staff members would be invited to participate on the panel. If there are more than 6 members of staff who attend the event, perhaps there could be two or three panels taking place concurrently, all recorded.... What do you think, Sandro? The Rome reunion has been postponed until 2011 because of too many conflicts. We may be planning something in Geneva for the spring 2010. -- Sandro 2. Why will Rome 2011 be so 'epic'? Will lots of US alums be going? ANSWER: The proposal is "sponsor the cost of travel, food tours and lodging for dozens of former Aiglon Staff/professors" and see who else comes along.
