Power Pony Super Squad! (08/05/08)

This song is about Ponies.  Powerful ponies.
And they formed a squad.  A super squad.

I'm Gonna Miss You (08/05/08)

The lyrics for this song were written awhile ago.  The subject
matter seemed appropriate as my neighbors just lost their mother
    to a horrible cancer.

I Will Not Eat Your Words, Naked Emperor (08/07/08)

This lyric came out of a song challenge.  Basically Pigfarmer Jr. (user name) pulled up a random wikipedia article on The Emperor's Club, a famous call girl service that took care of many affluent and important customers.  This song started from the riff of the first verse.  I then expanded it to one more section and voila!  a song was born.  I decided to write from the perspective of the wife of whom hell hath no fury...the one on the receiving end of finding out that her husband was spending ridiculous amounts of money on a callgirl and forsaking their marriage vows.

It Takes Awhile (08/12/08 9:54 pm)

Main melody came to me driving on the freeway.  Added a lyric or two this evening.

That Lyin', Cheatin', No Good Boyfriend of my Sister, Ronnie Duke (8/12/08 11:34 pm)

Sort of my attempt at a Johnny Cash-like murder ballad.  Silas had puked several minutes before this one.

Neil, Here's To You (08/14/08  10:08 pm)

Watching Neil Young's "Rust Never Sleeps" live concert video was quite inspiring.  Sure, this song totally stinks, but still.  I like the idea of the song, and for 50/90 that's all I need to do.

With the Moon As Full As The Harvest (08/14/08  10:48 pm)

More Neil Young inspired songwriting.  This one  was better.  I may even make it a longer song one day.

Captain Underpants (written during 50/90 but not released until now, 08/14/08 11:24 pm)

My kids make an appearance on this one.  Discussing the ownership of the book, Captain Underpants.

I've Got Lots of Reasons (5pm 08/15/08)

writing goes here after the title and then just keeps going and

You've Got Reason For Leaving I'm Sure
     (5pm 08/16/08)

This song is some sort of lyrical continuation from yesterday's "reasons" song.  This is my first time back in the proper studio room this week, so this one sounds quite a bit better than my other demos...and I like it.  Joy said she thought this song sounded like Vigilantes of Love or Steve Earle.  Thoughts?

It Looks Like Its Gone

   (5:30 pm 08/16/08)

I had a capo on at 7.  I had it in drop D.  I had just finished recording another song.  This little intro riff came to me.  I sang the verse over it.  I stopped for a second horribly cut into the chorus (I'll definitely not use this as my original track if I rerecord it, but I like the ideas here).

I like all the parts here.

I think this song is about someone that's dealing with a friend that wants to commit suicide.  I"m not sure what's "gone" in this story.  You can decide.

Take Off Your Disguise (9pm 8/17/08)

A song I wrote after reading True-Faced.  Wrote the lyrics in January, wrote the music in August.  Go figure.

Racing Faster! Going Nowhere!  (10:30pm 8/17/08)

I wrote this instrumental minutes after finishing the previous song.  I just wanted to post at least two tonight.

I Got Some (Satisfaction)   (11:02 pm 8/17/08)

Written as an antithesis to the Rolling Stones "I Can't Get No Satisfaction"...or maybe just a companion guide.

Tribal Drum Loop Song  (11:52 pm 8/17/08)

It is what it is.  Written fast and I'm going to bed now.

Daddy My Cats Butt Stinks  (10pm 8/18/08)

Lyrics written earlier.  Song recorded now.

I Got This Joy In My Heart (10:07 pm 8/18/08)

Lyrics written awhile ago.  recorded tonight along with two others.

Fantasy Conversations With Your Ghost

(10:15 pm 8/18/08)

I like many elements of this lyric, but it obviously still needs a few things.  The second half of the verses blow, but the first half is pretty cool.  I also like parts of the single chorus that happens...

Let's Go Poop In The Toilet  (10:30pm 8/18/08)

Bad Parenting Song

Take Your Finger Out Of Your Diaper
     (11:50 am 8/19/08)

Bad Parenting Song

Clean Up Your Room Or The Monkeys Will Eat Your Toys    (12:00 noon 8/19/08)

Another Bad Parenting song.

Brush Your Teeth Or They'll Rot Out Of Your Head

(12:45 pm 8/19/08)

Another Bad Parenting song.

Wash Your Hands!  Wash Your Face!

Brush Your Hair!

                      (1pm 8/19/08)

Another Bad Parenting song.

You Have To Do The Work  (1:30pm 8/19/08)

writing goes here after the title and then just keeps going and

Live For The Line Not For The Dot  (9pm 8/31/08)

This song was written in church and much was taken directly from the sermon titled "Live for the line, not for the dot".

You and Me Should Get Together  (11pm 9/13/08)

Trying to rewrite Live for the Line Not for The Dot, I came up with this little ditty.  I like it.

Live For The Line Not For The Dot v2  (11:15 pm 9/13/08)

Made a few revisions and made the melody a bit better.  I like this version better than the previous by far.
