It is that time of the year to start to think about Millard West Band Booster’s largest fund raiser for the support of the band.  We must work 5 Creighton Baseball Games to be able to work the 18 CWS Baseball games/events.  This year our hope is to get a concession stand on the main concourse.  In order to do this, we need more volunteers at each CWS game.  We really need each person to volunteer for 3-4 games to make this possible.  It is important that everyone volunteers to make this a success.  We also need the new freshman parents for Fall 2012 to jump in and volunteer.  It is easy to do and a great way to get to know the other band parents.

Creighton Baseball Games:
For the Creighton games, we need to provide 5 volunteer workers for each of the 5 games.  As alcohol is served at these games, all volunteer workers must be 19 years or older.  All groups are required to work the two Nebraska games and we can pick the other three games.  If you would like to pick a game to be an Event Lead Manger or Assistant Event Lead Manger, let us know.

College World Series Games/Events:
For the CWS games/events, we want to have 23 volunteer workers for each of the possible 18 games/events.  You only need to be 16 years or older to work CWS.  This includes the CWS Opening Ceremonies on June 14 and the Home Run Derby on June 30.  If you would like to pick a game/event to be an Event Lead Manger or Assistant Event Lead Manger, let us know.

Event Lead Training:
Levy will be hosting an Event Lead Manger training.  If you have never done the Event Lead, this will be a great way to understand what is required.  As soon as the training dates are announced, we will send out additional information.

Alcohol Responsibility Training:
Creighton Games – If you have taken the alcohol training in the past year you are okay, however if you have not, you will need to take the on-line training.  Once they have the alcohol on-site training, you will need to attend this.  You must be 19 years or older to serve alcohol or work the Creighton Games.

CWS Games - Everyone is required to take the on-site alcohol training before they work any CWS game/event.  You must be 16 years or older to work the CWS games/events.  Even though alcohol is not served at the CWS, the on-site training is mandated by Levy for everyone even students.  As soon as the on-site training dates are announced, we will send out additional information.

Full volunteer sign-up sheets will be coming out soon and we will have them at the upcoming band events as well.  If you would like to be an Event Lead let us know. We need everyone to help.  Remember, this is the largest fund raiser for the band so we really need everyone to participate.  We are looking forward to a fun and successful CWS Season!!
