Organic Gardening & Farming Week - July 25th - 29th
Based at Kennett High School. Students will visit local organic farms and nurseries and get their hands dirty! Students will assist with farm projects and participate in workshops related to planting, harvesting, raising beef, pork and chickens, composting, controlling pests, preserving the harvest, alternative energy and more! They will plant their own herb pot and bake an all orgnanic berry pie to bring home!
The Mt. Washington Valley School to Career Partnership week-long summer program is designed to introduce local youth to the wide variety of career opportunities available to them as they get older. Run on a day-camp model, students will participate in hands-on activities and projects related to organic gardening and farming and associated local businesses. Students will visit local farms, nurseries, and businesses to see what the day to day activities related to organic gardening and farming include. Students are supervised in a 1:6 counselor camper ratio.
The week-long camp costs $90 with limited scholarships available. Enrollment is limited and the deadline to apply it June 17th.
