Molly and Mitch's Wedding!
September 12, 2008
A little bit about ourselves: Mitch and I met for the first time our freshman year of college at Emerson in Boston, MA. We lived on the same floor of our dorm. Our relationship at that time was nothing more than a friendly hello in the hallways. After we graduated from Emerson in 2003 we met again through a mutual friend. Our groups of friends started hanging out all the time and we quickly became friends. That became something more somewhere down the line and the next level of our relationship started with a kiss on Halloween night. On December 1st, after attending a Celtics game together, we decided to be "official".

The Bride's Dress: My dress was purchased from J.Crew. I had my eye on this dress for awhile and one day it was on sale. I could not let it pass me by. It really has the exact feel that I want for our wedding. Very simple and elegant. I wanted something I could be comfortable in and this dress is just perfect. No pictures of me in it yet, because I wouldn't want Mitch to see me wearing it until that day when I'm all dolled up. Not for any superstitious reasons, but just because I want my hair and makeup done up before he gets a look. :)
The Bride's Shoes: I found these shoes originally at Macy's in Downtown Crossing. The did not have this color in my size. The told me no Macy's stores had them in my size anywhere in MA. New Jersey had some though (no help to me). On an outing with two of my bridesmaids I saw them on display, on sale, at the Macy's in the Natick Collection Mall. I had to get them! They are gold, but neither of these pictures - one I took and one from online - really show the color as it is in real life. I love them.
The Groom's Tux
The Groom's Tux is Jones New York 3 Button from Men's Warehouse. Vest is Ivory Herringbone and shirt is Ivory.
The Groomsmen
The Groomsmen will be wearing the same Tux with a white shirt and wine vest.
The Bridesmaids
Each girl is wearing their own dress in the espresso/chocolate brown color.
Matron of Honor
The Matron of Honor is pulling double duty as the Mother of the Bride. We wanted her to stand out and she wasn't thrilled with my color choices. She has chosen to wear Alfred Angelo Separates in Clover
With this skirt (Above)
Mother of the Groom
I have to say, I probably have the best Future Mother In Law out there. She was so gung-ho about getting a dress and patiently waited for my Mom to pick hers first. She consulted me on colors and options even though I never asked her to, nor was I about to tell her what she was wearing to my wedding. I wanted her to be comfortable and feel beautiful. However I really appreciated her wanting my opinion on it. What she ended up with is fantastic and I can't wait to see her in it!!

In this color (Below) - LOVE IT!
Everyone is going to look FIERCE!

Invitations/Stationery: I am DIYing all of the stationery. I got everything I needed at Paper Source in Brookline, MA. The people there have been very helpful and I could just spend days in that store.
Save The Dates
Invitations
Main part of invite- 5x5 square flat card. I then punched out two leaves and then glued the red leaves on opposite corners.
Direction Cards - printed on 4 bar flat card stock
RSVPs - I had bought the pretty flower stamps for these because the colors fit and some of the flowers (i.e. Gerbera Daisies) will be used in the wedding. Then postage rates decided to go up. ugh. I ended up adding the 1 cent Tiffany lamp stamps instead of starting over. It looks just fine.
Petal enclosure - I stamped the leaf patter in gold on the outside. The invites will be folded up so that when you open the envelope some of the gold stamped side will stick out.
All components were tied together with a red ribbon and placed in the petal enclosure. This picture was taken before I made the direction cards, so they stick out a bit over the RSVPs
The leaf stamp was also carried over to the envelopes. Here in brown instead of gold. A fellow Knottie had posted that when she sent an invite to Mickey and Minne they sent back a cute picture with a note from the two of them. Mitch and I went to Disney on our first vacation together and had an absolute blast, so I figured it's worth a try because that would be cute to have.
Back of envelopes - I had a custom stamp made with our address on it so that I didn't have to write it on every single envelope. This can be used (and has been used) for letters and birthday cards too, so not just for the wedding.
The heart stamp I thought was a cute way to "seal" the envelope instead of a sticker. I also think it will match well with the wedding stamp pattern (which I am psyched the 59 cent ones are now an orange color!!)
Other Details
These are our favor boxes. I made the monogram sitckers on sheets of Avery Round Sticker paper. These will have Red and Brown M&Ms in them when all is said and done.
Finished Favors
Favor Tags
These are the favor tags. I printed these onto business card stock by Avery.
On the back of the favor tags we have our photo sharing information. I figured this way people will hopefully take them home.
Our Personalized napkins. I all of a sudden just had to have these. I really just want a couple to keep for our anniversaries. I think it's a nice keepsake. Ordered from theknot.com. Ivory napkins with Cranberry print.
More up close shot. I am going to get some plain Cranberry and possibly and orange or chocolate brown color napkins to mix in with these for the cocktail hour.
Menus
I decided to try something different for the menus. Since we are having a buffet I didn't think it necessary to have a menu at each place setting, but I still wanted people to know what they were about to eat in hopes of moving the line along and giving them the full picture. So, I decided to do a folded menu. Kind of a smaller version of something you would get in a restaurant. I am really happy with how they came out.
Outside front cover. I pulled in the leaf stamp from the invitations here again, as well as the same color card stocks that have been used throughout the paper products at the wedding.
