Yiewsley & West Drayton Band - Saturday 12th December 2009


Our concert on 12th December 2009 saw the return of Yiewsley & West Drayton Band, a local brass band, back by popular demand.  Proceeds from this concert were donated to Workaid.


Yiewsley & West Drayton Band - Saturday 21st June 2008

Yiewsley & West Drayton Band, a local brass band, performed a variety of numbers including film music (Titanic and Pirates of the Caribbean), standards (Over the Rainbow), classical (Fanfare for the Common Man) and even a medley of Queen hits. They also performed a medley of Disney hits for those who were young, or young at heart.

Not only were these numbers well performed by the band, they went further by entering into the spirit of many of the numbers, in particular "I Will Follow Him" from the film Sister Act which featured four soloists dressed in nuns' habits and wimples, and the arrangement from the film "Pirates of the Caribbean" for which the entire band wore pirate headscarves. Musical director Chris Cole kept us entertained between numbers and his enthusiam was infectious. All in all, a highly enjoyable evening and one which will hopefully be repeated at some point in the future.
