About Telling Tales
Tina Summerskill - vocals
John Brockhouse - double bass and guitar
Ken Condon - drums and percussion
Dave Le Vay - keyboards
The group began as a vocals and double bass/guitar duo but has evolved over the
last two years to the present four-piece line-up of vocals, double bass/guitar,
percussion and keyboards. Tina's distinctive voice, which is rich and
powerful at times and yet soft and husky at others, contributes to the band's
individual sound as does Ken's use of a variety of percussion instruments.
The repertoire covers jazz and blues material from the early 20th century to
the present day and features songs written by, amongst others, George Gershwin,
Hoagy Carmichael, Bessie Smith, Willie Dixon, Nina Simone, Norah Jones and Van
Morrison
