Phoenix Jazz Band

Phoenix Jazz Band - Saturday 23rd January 2010
Featuring guest trumpet player Pat Halcox from the Chris Barber Jazz Band

Phoenix Jazz Band was originally formed by plastic surgeon Brian Morgan after the King's Cross underground station fire in November 1987 in order to raise £1 million needed to provide a Professor of Medicine for burns at Mount Vernon Hospital and University College Hospital.  The band has continue to raise money for charity ever since.

The band, featuring guest trumpet player Pat Halcox from the Chris Barber Jazz Band performed a variety of well-known standards including Georgia On My Mind, Pennies From Heaven, Mood Indigo and Mack The Knife.  Proceeds from this concert were donated to Age Concern.
