| Opera Pops - Saturday 15th September 2007 Featuring Kim-Marie Woodhouse (mezzo-soprano) & Elizabeth Woods (soprano), accompanied by Philip Sunderland (piano) An evening of arias from a selection of operas including Cosi Fan Tutti & Madame Butterfly plus some show tunes from "Showboat", "Kiss Me Kate" and "West Side Story" Our chosen charity for this concert was The Friends of Meadow High School About the performers: Kim-Marie Woodhouse Previous performances include: Third Lady in Kenneth Branagh's film version of Mozart's "The Magic Flute" Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte for Garden Opera Zerlina in Don Giovanni with Opera North Teodata in Flavio with The Early Opera Company Schwerleite in Die Walkure for the Oxford Philomusica Elizabeth Woods Previous performances include: Villager/old lady in the world premiere of "The Bird of Night" by Dominque Le Gendre at the Lindbury Studio, Covent Garden Adele in Die Fledermaus with Wexford Festival Opera Hanna Glawari in Merry Widow with Lyric Opera & RTE Festival Nights Giorgetta in Il Tabarro for the Anna Livia International Opera Festival Philip Sunderland Philip is currently Music Director of Swansea City Opera, with whom he has conducted Cosi fan tutte, Barber of Seville, Pearl Fishers, La Traviata, Die Fledermaus and Daughter of the Regiment. He was Chorus Master at Opera North from 1999-2003 and is a laureate of London University. The world premiere of his community opera "Cars to Mars" has recently been performed with Dragon Arts in Swansea |
