1. My child does not attend a school which feeds into Plano East, so can we still play for the East JR Panthers? YES. Although we are the official feeder system for Plano East Lacrosse, we welcome players from other communities. We strongly encourage all 8th graders to play in the program which feeds directly into the lacrosse team of the high school that you will be attending. However, if your 8th grader’s high school does not have a lacrosse program, then he will be allowed to participate in East JR Panthers Lacrosse.
2. My son has never played lacrosse, can we borrow some equipment and see if he/she likes the sport? YES. We have a limited supply of loaner equipment available to borrow. Players are responsible for an athletic cup and mouthpiece.
3. How can I learn about the sport of lacrosse? USlacrosse.org has an excellent introductory guide to lacrosse (LAX) for parents on their website: http://www.uslacrosse.org/education/parentsguide.phtml The East JR Panthers also offers FREE Lacrosse 101 Classes for Parents. The next Parent Meeting is scheduled for January 8th (2:00PM) at the Murphy City Hall Council Chamber.

Uniforms are not included in the cost of the Registration Fee. New players can expect to pay about $100 for a complete uniform package. Returning players can expect to pay about $55, if they are able to re-use their existing practice uniform.
7. When are the practices? Practices will start with Training Days on January 14 and 15. The 1st/2nd grade team will likely practice once a week. The 3rd through 8th grade teams will likely practice a 2 or 3 times a week, subject to coaches discretion. The exact days and time are TBD.
8. Where are the practices? Practices are currently held on the Murphy Lacrosse Home Field, which is behind the old City Hall/Fire Station, 205 N. Murphy Road (across the road from the new City Hall) If lighted fields are needed we will likely practice at AR Schell Park, near Bowman Middle School.
