MUNDI was formed in 1986 as a mobile resource library (Mobile Unit for Nottingham Development Issues or MUNDI) and became a registered charity in January 1989. MUNDI then became a Charitable Trust in September 2007 – charity number 1120802. It is run by an elected Board of Trustees who meet every six weeks to make key decisions and to maintain an overview of the management of MUNDI's work. MUNDI is a not-for-profit charitable organisation and all fees received from earned income are used in support of furthering the mission of the charity (e.g. subsidising the free resource centre) and are not distributed to any shareholder(s).
