Hey Everyone! I am glad to see you have become interested in the upcoming teen program at the Muncy Public Library. My name is Brian Bustin, and I am the new teen coordinator at the library. I will be in the library on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays after school; so stop in and say hello!
The real purpose of the teen club is to invite you, the teens, into the library for a time of discussion, reading, games, and even some relaxation. We can discuss books everyone has previously read, ones you want to read, or even the latest movies and music everyone is in to these days. My goal is to make the teen reading section at the Muncy Library the way you want it, you are not only our customers and supporters, you are the next generation for this world and you will play a big role in the future.
The teen section at the library is focused to allow our young adult and teen readers to "See themselves in the pages of our literature". We realize that being a teen is a constant stream of challenges and changes every day and we invite you to read through the books we have available so that you can connect with characters that are very much like yourself. The different situations that these characters get themselves into will be reminiscent to your day to day struggles and relationships. All in all, we encourage you to simply be a teen and enjoy yourself at the same time. It has been a great year for the teen program at the MPL, and we anticipate a great 2009! Thanks to everyone who have participated in the programs and shown their support to the library. |
