Our first Roadtrip(blows) of the year is in the books, and it has concluded with moderate to great success. Thankfully no uniform parts were forgotten this year, unfortunately two saxes were late for the bus and had to ride Bus 7 with the ever pleasant Tubas and Mellophones. Due to some funding logistics, the Bookmobile set out in class, complete with leather seats and on-board wifi. The bus ride to Evanston High School (Home of the Wildkits!) was filled with some great entertainment from the upperclass contigent and some lame attempts at humor by the freshmen class. Taft and company met us for morning practice where the saxes marched on what would turn out to be the best kept field they would march on all day. Upon arriving the oh so great city of Chicago, the band played two or three songs at "Badgerville" before being transported via bus approximately 400 yards to the stadium, where some remarked "this stadium looks like a World War I tribute, with a spaceship in the middle, therefore Ancient Aliens exist." Truer words were never spoken. After being thrust into a ridiculously small room somewhere in the bowels of Soldier Field for five minutes, the band proceded to take the field where Jay Cutler's brown stained underwear is still presumably impacted into the ground where Clay Matthews left it. Despite some minor problems during run-on, Rank 24 performed a great show, complete with everyone's favorite 1812 Overture marching step-horns up combination move. The All-Stars once again took the field for a near flawless performance of "This 70's Show." (Note: this is different from "That 70's Show" performed 4 years ago, but still included a rousing rendition of 'Da Doo Ron Ron') Due to the horrible field conditions in Soldier Field, the (World Famous!) 5th Quarter was performed outside the stadium. The fans were generally appreciative of the Band's hard work, and yells of "Amurica!" and "I didn't even know you guys played today!" could be heard as they exited the field. A perfect Yellow Meal was enjoyed by all on the way home (luke warm temperature, slightly soggy, and 100% yellow colored). Ozzy and Bleeker made a failed attempt at a dance party on the back of the bus, and everyone learned some much needed information about the until then (and still) enigmatic freshmen class. The rest of the trip was uneventful and everyone arrived home safely and happy, ready to begin working on the massive poop consisting of all four meals they were served on the trip. Congrats to Ashton, Josh, Rachel, and Jake, our new freshmen this year! September 2nd, 2011
Yesterday, the 34th (or 10 & 24th if you prefer) edition of the MuMuPi All-Stars made their glorious and much anticipated return to both Union South and the hallowed turf in what turned out to be the hottest game in the history of Camp Randall. Most had sweated through their uniforms by the time the pregame concert started, but that did not stop them from marching a great first show. There were some new additions as both Brim and Moecia marched their frist pregame show in 24 (I guess it was actually 23 this time around), and Pepe found a temporary home in rank 2 (screw you). Despite the heat no one passed out and by halftime it had cooled off for a rousing rendition of 'Viva Elvis!' For the first and conceivably last time in recent memory, the saxes had a whole eight steps out onto the field for the 5th Quarter. Unfortunately they squandered this once in a lifetime opportunity by simply riding their saxophones as if they were horses instead of coming up with something infintely more creative. Also, Russell Wilson is my hero.
August 31st, 2011 Attention everyone. Another year of greatness in the Badger sports world starts TOMORROW. Get Pumped! Eat A Rock!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGoxbHVNuXU June 27th, 2011 Russell Wilson made a most excellent decision today. Also, all of you lazy scrotes better start getting in shape, less than two months til the Rain of Terror begins. December 27th, 2010
BIIIAAAAHHhhh! We're going to Pasadena! BIIIAAAAHHhhh! November 27th, 2010 Today's game promises to be an excitement. Congratulations Chins, Fiskars, and Honky on a great season; Give it all you've got today! Today we're all HUGE fans of the Nittany Lions and the Buckeyes. Rose Bowl Badger Ass Tats EVERYWHERE!! Lets Go RED November 8th, 2010 A very successful roadtrip (blows!) weekend indeed. Purdue thought they had a chance, but with an entirely different team on the field after halftime, we came back with a vengeance. Suck it Pete. Going above and beyond the call of duty, we have.....SSSSsss...BOOM ah (whistle), A song from your favorite over-achieving freshman, Bullseye In Rank 24 (to the tune of "Part of your World" from the Little Mermaid) Look at this rank Isn’t it sweet? Wouldn’t you say we make the whole band complete? Wouldn’t you say that the saxes Have got everything?
And then there’s Mike Who knows we’re the best But the way that he acts you know he could care less Looking at us can’t he see We’ve got everything
We’ve got pi chicks and pi guys a plenty We’ve got skinny white boys galore You want a good number of rankmates? How ‘bout twenty?
But there are some things That still creep me out In Rank 24
I should ask, because I don’t get why When Fiskars is drunk She gets one bum eye Walking around like, [what’s up her ass? Oh, a pole]
This one guy in our rank has a condition that’s bizarre His name is Taft, and we all know how gingers are Walking around even though [What don’t gingers have?] A soul!
And then there’s Ozzy And the little girls he thinks are great Just stay away from my cousin she’s only eight That’s just one thing, that still freaks me out In Rank 24
Now, Bleeker and Dillie Please don’t kill me They make awkward lovers And what would Simps pay To spend a day Between Zoltan’s thighs Everyone in band Clearly understands That their girlfriends are really elaborate covers And then there’s Cheeks here Whose [kind of a creeper] He rapes total strangers with his eyes
I can only imagine what Pepe was dreaming When he passed out and he got an asshat Like, what’s this smell, and why does it What’s the word? Burn! And there’s some things That I just find plain weird Like Phoebe’s blue shades and Bessie’s beard
But there’s one good thing We still [get more] In Rank 24 October 18th, 2010 Also, verse two, brought to you by Bleeker. Live it, Learn it, Love it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fd5GkGa7WM October 17th, 2010 Last night was the biggest football upset in the history of...EVER!! Ok, maybe not ever, but this certainly qualifies as a moment of happiness. I can't think of a better end to a great show under the lights. A number 18 Wisconsin beat number 1 Ohio State for an interesting change up in the rankings. Wisconsin now sits happily in the top 10, while OSU falls to number 11. This, like every day, is a GREAT day to be a Badger! August 28th, 2010 Congratulations to our new freshmen! John Beck, Chris Day, Jocelyn Piller, Michael Kelbel, Mike Faust, Julia Mercer, Malcolm Robey, and Thomas Gibbs The size of the section nearly doubled! Maybe Mike doesn't hate us after all? Great work this past week, guys! August 26th, 2010 A new batch of fresh meat came in this morning. As usual, there's more freshmen than upperclassmen combined. Work 'em hard, and see who can stick it out! March 8th, 2010 Twas the night before nothing important, when all through the house, all the saxes should be drunk, not writing silly stories. That being said, here's a lovely epic poem brought to you by py and zolie. We obviously don't party enough anymore. Out up 24 and ____ 'Twas the night before Spring Concert January 5th, 2010 The MuMuPi Allstars were once again in excellent form for their apearance at the Champs Sports Bowl on December 29th. Wisconsin trampled Miami for a 20 to 14 victory.November 12th, 2009 Good luck Pound, Guida, Blobo, Lipid, Pinto, and Ritz in your last game in Camp Randall this Saturday! October 22nd, 2009 All of our freshmen have been named! October 1st, 2009 Here are some pictures I took earlier in the season, enjoy!
