ST PATRICKS DAY

Mullingar Town Band took part in five parades on St Patricks Day, including Tullamore, Clara, Tyrrellspass, Castlepollard and Mullingar. We also made the trip to the Limerick international band competition on Sunday March 18th.


A massive thanks and well done to all our members who worked extremely hard over the last number of weeks, and a special congratulations to those who marched for the first time over the weekend.

WINTERGUARD

The Crusaders Dance Corps took 4th place at Winterguard, which took place in the National Basketball Arena, Tallaght, on Sunday February 19th. Well done on a great performance girls! Rehearsals continue for the concert band, who are preparing to take part in the 47th National Band Championships in Cork in April.




SACRED HEART UNIVERSITY CONCERT BAND VISIT

Mullingar Town Band were delighted to welcome Sacred Heart University Concert Band to Mullingar on Saturday January 14th 2012. The band, led by Director Keith Johnston, arrived to the bandhall shortly before 7PM. They played a selection of music for our band, and guests who had gathered. After a short performance from our concert band, the two bands joined to play three pieces together, they were, Radetzky March, The Young Amadeus and Born This Way. 
Mullingar Town Band chairperson, Deborah Cummins, presented Keith with a framed photo of Mullingar Town Band to mark the visit.

MULLINGAR TO WELCOME GUEST BAND

Mullingar Town Band are delighted to welcome the Sacred Heart University Band, who will visit us this Saturday 14th January. Sacred Heart University Band are from Fairield, Connecticut, USA. They travel to Ireland this week as part of their first international tour. The 55 member band will perform with various groups during their time here, including a joint concert with ourselves on Saturday evening. They spend this week in the beautiful surroundings of Dingle, Co. Kerry. We look forward to welcoming them at the weekend.

 

CHRISTMAS CONCERT
 
Mullingar Town Band were delighted to join with the Mullingar Choral Society and the CBS boys choir on Sunday December 11th, for the Christmas concert. The audience in the packed Cathedral enjoyed performances, including Lustpiel, A Christmas Festival, Daniel, Silent Night and clapped along to the regular favourite “The Radetsky March”.

MC for the night, Liam Gilleran introduced the band, and director Hubie Magee as “a credit to Mullingar” and the band received a delightful applause from the great crowd who came to support.

Mullingar Town Band would like to congratulate Mullingar Choral Society, the CBS choir, and soloist Billy Gilleran on their great performances, and we look forward to working with you again in the future.

The next thing on the band Christmas calendar is regular outings performing carols in the town over the next number of weeks. See you on the streets!


CHRISTMAS CONCERT DATE

Mullingar Town Band are happy to announce that our Christmas Concert will take place on Sunday 11th December at 7pm. We will be again joing up with the Mullingar Choral Society and also with the CBS choir. Tickets are priced at €7.50 per person, or €20 for a family. The concert will take place in the Mullingar Cathedral. We look forward to seeing you there!
