FAQ's

Here are some of the frquently asked questions regarding the club -
Q - What is the difference between the Mukwonago Area Soccer Club (MASC) and town rec departments?
A - The rec departments create leagues for children based on need and availablility, and ask for parents to coach the teams, and have untrained, unqualified referees to judge the games, changing rules of the game as their needs change in numbers and field size.  This leads to some experiences that do not have a positive effect on the player.  At a soccer club, like MASC, we have quality, trained coaches and referrees, licensed by the state soccer association, Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA).  They are required to have continuing education to keep up their coaching status, and have positive reinforcement from the soccer community.  Yes, we do also have parent coaches, but they are required to receive the proper licenses and training.  The players will play real soccer games in accordence with the small sided guidlines as set up by FIFA, the world soccer governing body.  We also have local, national, and international soccer players and coaches in to have guest training sessions with the players.  We also include free indoor training session all winter long at a local school.  If so desired, and many of our teams play, we can guide you to an indoor soccer facility to play indoor soccer all winter long.
It's also less expensive at MASC to play for a full year, and you receive more items to play such as a full uniform, jersey, shorts, socks, along with a soccer t-shirt, a hooded sweatshirt, and a club winter hat.
The difference = Quality, value, committment vs local convienence

Q - How much does it cost?
A - It depends on the age of your player, here is the link to the Milwaukee Kickers website with the pricing for each age group, just scroll to the bottom http://www.mksc.org/page/show/329442-2011-2012-registration .  This pricing is for a WHOLE season, and a season consists of 2 sessions, fall and spring.  Added to the coacts listed is a regional fee, in Mukwonago it's $25.00, and that's added on to the cost.  We use this $25.00 to do many of the things the players need and want, like sweatshirts, t-shirts and hats, along with the cost of keeping up the fields and equipment.  We also require a $60.00 volunteer fee.  This is a fee that each FAMILY pays to help encourage them to volunteer fo things like coaching, team manager, help with our annual tournament, or many other volunteer activities.  After a short 6 hour committment, you receive your $60.00 back.  We don't want your $60, we want your time.

Q - Where do we play?  When do we play?
A - MASC 's home fields are Miniwauken park, and Washington Avenue park, next to the library.  Each team will will play 8 games in the fall, and 8 games in the spring, 4 each session at home.  The other 4 will be at another Milwaukee Kicker region, like Muskego, New Berlin, Wauwatosa, etc.  The games are mostly on Saturdays, with always a 1 or 2 on a Sunday afternoon.

Q - What is "Milwaukee Kickers" and what are regions?
! - The Mukwonago Area Soccer Club is a Milwaukee Kickers region.  The Milwaukee Kickers is a soccer club.  A club that has over 7,000 players annually.  It is so big, that it has regions, or local clubs, or sub-clubs.  We all play in leagues that have only other regions or Milwaukee Kickers teams and regions in them.  It is one of the biggest clubs in the country, and can make leagues within their own club.  There are other leagues in our area like MYRSL (Milwuakee Youth Recreational Soccer League) or SECL (South East Classic League), but Kickers teams typically do not play in them.

Q - When is practice?
A - Practice is usally 1 time per week, on a weeknight, determined by the coach, usually with the consent of the families on the team, usually at the field where they play their home games.
