Event Guide

MONTHLY HAPPY HOUR:

If you have not understood from looking at the rest of the site, we really like the Berg. So, every third thursday of the month, our club gets together after the meeting to enjoy some appetizers at the Heildelberg in Downtown Columbia! We always have fun talking with people we already know, and meeting people we do not know yet!

INTERNATIONAL POTLUCK:

This is one of the most diverse potlucks one will ever
attend. Here's the deal-everyone brings a dish from their country, we put them
together, and then get a delicious mixture of cuisine. While, of course, enjoying everyones company!

TAILGATING:

(a gathering in a parking lot before a game) Mizzou's favorite past time during football season and MUIC enjoys it too! Sometime during the season the club gets together to put on their own tailgate. There is food, games, and music and it is always a good time.

SEMI-FORMAL:

(a dance which includes women dressing up in dresses

and men wearing nice dress clothes as well) Since some of our members are only here for a semester or so, at the end of each semester we put on a semi-formal in order to celebrate the end of the semester, have a fun get-together and to say goodbye to those who are leaving us.

COMEDY NIGHTS:

Deja Vu is a club in downtown Columbia that has a comedy stage, and sometimes MUIC likes to mix it up and attend one of these shows.

 TRIP TO SAINT LOUIS:

At the beginning of the academic year MUIC takes a road trip to Saint Louis. We see the sights, get some shopping done, and enjoy the food! Some possible excursions include the enjoying the city museum, shopping at union station, visiting forest park or the arch.

HAUNTED HOUSE:
(a house that simulates paranormal activity for one's own amusement) In October, around Halloween, we like to go to a haunted house nearby and enjoy being scared. Of course, we go with a group so no need to be too scared.

VOLUNTEERING:

The club also likes to give back to the community. So there are opportunities to help someone else through MUIC.

TRIP TO CHICAGO:

During the second semester, MUIC takes a trip to
Chicago, IL. This includes seeing the sights, shopping, and sampling Chicago cuisine. Some examples could include the seeing the Sears tower, visiting museums and parks, eating Chicago pizza or shopping on Michigan Avenue.

SPORTS:

MUIC participates in intermurals on campus including soccer and football.
