Mt Hebron High School Media Center Home

Welcome

Welcome to the media center webpage for MHHS.  Use the Navigation section to the left for links to helpful websites and class projects.

Looking for some career inspiration? Check out these videos from the HCPSS Career Academies.

The media center will be open this year from 6:45 am - 2:45 pm most days. Students may use the media center before and after school without a pass and during their lunch (after eating) with a pass. Students may also visit the media center with a class. Closings due to scheduling conflicts will be posted. But our online resources are always available! Click on the Encyclopedia and Databases tab here or on the left hand Navigation bar.

Stop by today and see the beautiful new space or click here for some pictures.

While you're in the media center, be on the look out for some new additions! Find a book with a QR code and scan it (using your smartphone or iPod touch) for some trivia, prizes, or information. Check out the digital frame for book suggestions and additional resources. Or borrow the Live Scribe smart pen to listen to or record your own book talks.

Book News

Looking for a new experience? Try reading the One Maryland One Book selection. This year's title is  The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway.

The votes are in! This year's Black Eyed Susan winner is Girl, Stolen by April Henry. Thank you to all who voted and congratulations to Jocelyn Gluck for winning the Barnes & Noble gift card!!

Summer Reading starts now! Begin by signing up at hclibrary.org on or after June 1 to start earning book bucks and prizes. Stop by the media center or the Miller Branch or visit this site for some suggestions on what to read and other ways to earn prizes.

For  suggestions on what else to read,
ask a media staff member or check out the Book Suggestions Page. There are links for other websites and some of our very own student created book trailers. A smart pen is also available to borrow to hear book reviews on the shelves too. Or you can read some of our student book reviews here!

Don't forget that reading doesn't always involve your eyes. Try an audiobook - they come on CD's as well as pre-loaded mp3 players perfect for on the go.
