Specialized group tours
for both adults and students
SANDY LEVITT founded Manhattan Tour & Travel in
1990 to design fun, affordable, educational theatre trips to New
York City
for high school, middle school, and college students.
Manhattan Tour & Travel later
expanded its operations to include more adult groups and
trips to Chicago as well. MT&T soon made a nationwide impression. In 1999 the Educational Theatre
Association (EdTA) inducted Sandy into its Hall of Fame, recognizing his
contribution to theatre programs across the country.
Community theatres nationwide have found
Manhattan Tour & Travel a very useful partner in the growing
business of fundraising trips, and MT&T's assistance has been a help to the American Association of Community Theatre (AACT) conventions held in New York City. In 2010, MT&T received the AACT
Corporate Award, in
appreciation for its nationwide support of community theatre.Manhattan Tour &
Travel's office is above the Helen Hayes Theatre—from the street, you can see our office windows on the third floor, above the
awning at the entrance to the box office. We're next to Sardi’s and just
steps away from Shubert Alley, a real part of the Great White Way. Rock of Ages is playing downstairs, down
the block are the Majestic Theatre (Phantom of the Opera) and the St. James (home of the new musical Leap of Faith), and
across the street are the Shubert (Memphis) and the Broadhurst
(home of the revival of Streetcar Named Desire). We are right here in the
heart of the Theatre District to host your group when you’re in town—and
the
same is true for our guests in Chicago. Our groups
arrive as clients and
return again and again as friends!
