What is the Estimation Jar?
Each Friday, I will send home the Estimation Jar home with a student. The family decides how to fill it (must be the same size item) and returns it on Monday. Students estimate how many items are in the jar throughout the week. They may change their estimate each day if desired. On Friday, we will organize and discuss our estimates and then count the contents of the jar together. The Estimation Jar can be filled with anything. If it is edible, it will be shared equally with students at the end of the day. If it is filled with a non food item (erasers, etc.) items will be shared when the activity is finished. If it is filled with money, Miss Vincent gets to keep it!
The student who estimates the exact, or closest to, the actual number will have their name posted here. In addition, a list of items that have been used to fill the jar will be listed so we will have new creative ideas each week. Have fun!
