Welcome to the Microbiology and Molecular Genetics Club Website!

The MSU Microbiology and Molecular Genetics Club is a club of undergraduate students at MSU typically majoring in either Microbiology and Molecular Genetics or Genomics and Molecular Genetics. All undergraduates are invited to attend our meetings and there is no fee to be a part of the club.

Officially, the MSU Microbiology and Molecular Genetics is a student chapter of the MI-ASM and receives financial support from both MI-ASM & national ASM.

Meetings are generally once every two weeks, and are currently held in room 2245 BPS at 7:00pm. This semester the meetings are every other Monday.

On most weeks, we have a speaker come in and give a presentation on their work. Most often it's a professor talking about research, but we've also had people come in to talk about grad school or working for biotech companies. If you have any suggestions about who should come speak, just e-mail micclub@msu.edu and we will try to arrange it.

We try to plan "field trips" and other outings, such as going on tours of microbiology-related places. We also have bowling matches against the biochem club. Not to mention that there is always FREE pizza and a FREE raffle with prizes.

Last year we had a successful 'Giant Microbes' fundraiser. Hopefully we will do this again this year.
