2. It is the student’s responsibility to make up and turn in work missed due to absence. See late work policy.
3. If an assignment is graded and returned, the missed assignment will no longer be accepted. This includes missed tests.
4. Not knowing work was turned in is not an excuse. Refer to rule 2.
Tardies
Tardies will not be tolerated. The school tardy policy will be followed very carefully. The 7th tardy in a semester will result in an “F” grade and removal from the class. READ THE SCHOOL TARDY POLICY IN THE STUDENT HANDBOOK!!!
Grading Policy
Each semester is broken into 3 six week grading periods. The student will receive a grade for each grade period. All 3 grades will be determined by cumulative points. Students will be graded on tests, labs, projects, handouts, and any other assignments.
Late Work - Late work will be accepted one day late with a parent signature unless there is an excused absence. “I forgot”, “I didn’t know it was due”, “I did not know we turned it in” does not count as an acceptable excuse. Partial credit may be given at the teacher’s discretion. If there is an exceptional circumstance that causes late work, talk to me and we will come up with a solution. If late work does not have a parent signature, it will not be accepted. If you are caught forging your parent’s signature, zeros will be given for all previous late work, a parent conference with an administrator will be set up, late work will not be accepted for the remainder of the year.
Do not come to the teacher at the end of a grade period to turn in late work. It will not be accepted.
Grading Scale
A = 90 – 100%
B = 80 – 89%
C = 70 – 79%
D = 60 – 69%
F = 59% and below
YOU EARN YOUR GRADES, THE TEACHER DOES NOT ASSIGN GRADES! YOUR GRADES ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, IT IS YOUR JOB!!!!
