Agenda for Leadership in the Global Community

Interactive spaces:
Okay, so this class is interactive, not passive! I will facilitate your learning experience.  Facilitate just means, that I will be asking you all sorts of questions and pointing you in directions of places that you can find possible answers.  Note that I said, "possible answers" I did not say that I would lead you to one answer! The types of questions that I ask are called interpretative questions; that is, you can find many different answers and judge which answers you think are stronger than others.  All this to say, that YOU will need places to interact with your own ideas, other student ideas, and global leader ideas.  Thus, I have tried to create three majors spaces for you to interact...
  • Classroom-Our classroom is filled with opportunities for you to interact with ideas about the Global Community.  Take advantage!  When you have an idea, share it in our physical space.
  • School- You get to share your thoughts, your work, and your perspective with the entire school through the use of the television studio and our closed-circuit system.
  • Internet- You will be working, via an Apple laptop computer, with Google tools to interact with the Global Community

Critical Thinking Goals and Sunshine State Standards (SSS)
You can find Goals and SSS at the top of every graded project rubric. The course integrates the 8th grade performance standards in every lesson and project from English and Language Arts, Social Studies, and Sciences.
