REACH Program
REACH is an intensive intervention class to help students close the gap in reading, writing, and spelling. The REACH System consists of three highly effective, research-based, direct instruction programs: Corrective Reading, Reasoning and Writing, and Spelling Through Morphographs. It is taught for 2-2 ½ hours per day and replaces the core language arts program.
Students also complete Step Up To Writing activities and read AR books. As you can see, we are very busy.
All of this hard work is paying off. Most of the students have shown excellent growth. Attendance is very important since the majority of the instruction is active student participation. The best way to improve reading is to READ, READ, READ. So, enjoy books at home as well as school.
Included in the sidebar are some helpful links to use at home.

Check to see if your book is an AR book, what level, and how many points it is worth.
Iv'e posted our 4th grade high frequency spelling lists on this site for students to work at their own pace. Spelling City teaches, tests, and has games to make memorizing these words fun. You can also search up other spelling lists.

This is a free site from Sylvan Learning. It is similar to AR. Students can take comprehension tests on books and earn points for prizes. |
