About Me

 
 
    I am originally from Lovington, New Mexico.  I was a cheerleader for several years upon graduating from High School.  I obtained my college degree from University of The Southwest while starting my family.  I worked as a counselor for approximately ten years until I moved to Austin, Texas.  This is my 8th year teaching.  I taught in Austin ISD for 5 years before coming to Manor.  I taught 3rd Grade Bilingual for one year, Bilingual Pre~K for 4 years, worked at Austin High School as an At-Risk Youth Counselor for less than a year, and taught 6th Grade Science at Pearce Middle School for one year.  This is my 3rd year teaching at Decker Miidle School: I taught 6th grade, 7th grade, and now 8th grade for close to two years. 

 My hobbies include listening to music~ yes, TECHNO!, dancing, scrap booking, watching basketball, and spending time with my family.  I recently graduated with my Master’s Degree in Educational Media Technology through Full Sail University. I am a life~long learner!

 I really enjoy Science and how the nature of life and things work!  I love teaching and look forward every day for those “teachable moments” when I hear a great Reflection from one of my students at the end of the day…
