Every Thursday, in my room, I will post-- on a designated bulletin board a “Weekend Challenge” activity.  This is a bonus activity.  All students may take on this challenge!   It must be turned in on Monday (Tuesday if Monday is a holiday)-No exceptions!

You will have the opportunity to make 15 bonus points per week.  This is a great way to pump up that grade to the next level!

Directions:  Read the passage and complete the writing activity (don't forget to site your sources)
It's not uncommon for different scientists to do similar research on the same topic.  For example, scientist in almost every country are trying to find a treatment or a cure for the virus that causes AIDS.  Scientists often share information and discoveries with each other.  It helps them to learn from one another.  Write an essay on how working with a partner or in a group can help you with science at school.  Be sure to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of learning with a partner or in a group environment, as well as why it's helpful to compare scientific results with others.  ( you will need to do some research and reading on this topic, prepare an outline then write your essay)  You may pick up a lined copy of this assignment in the room or you may type it using a word document.
