Final Draft

Due ON or BEFORE Monday, March 5, 2012

Your final draft must have a thesis which you have proven with thoughtful and careful analysis of both primary and secondary sources.  The paper must be free of all grammatical and mechanical mistakes and be in proper MLA format.  Final papers must be handed in on or before the due date.

Tips

1  .Read the rubric.   Be aware the rough draft and final draft rubrics are very diffrent and thus do not expect your rough draft grade will simply improve.  It is being graded holistically as a final draft.

2.  Have a balance between facts and analysis (explanation of facts)

3.  Do not plagiarize

  1. Cite all facts.
  2. At the end of every quote ” include an immediate citation
  3. All book citations should include exact page numbers
4.  Include both a Works Cited and Annotated Bibliography
Works Cited Vs. Annotated Bibliography

Works Cited

  • List of all sources used in paper
  • Should be at least 8
  • Should include 3 books
  • Does not include annotations
  • MLA format
Annotated Bibliography
  • List of all sources looked at for paper
  • Includes annotations
  • MLA format

5.  Proofread

6.  Read over to be sure you proved your thesis

7.  Save your rough draft to hand in with your final draft
8.  Seek extra help as needed.  Is suggested you come with specific questions, have improvements to be looked at and do not wait until the last minute.  It is not realistic to expect extra help for such an important long-term assignment a day or two before it is due.
New things for Final Draft
  • Add in counterargument
  • Connection to Southern culture
  • Works Cited
  • Hand in old rough draft, revised annotated bibliography
