The workplace is, by definition, a professional setting.  Business is conducted between not only peers within the office, but also between members of different organizations.  This often results in encounters with people that you have never seen before.  First impressions can be very influential in these situations.  Unfortunately, in our society at present, there is a strong stereotype associated with modified individuals.  They are seen as rebellious, antisocial, unintelligent, and violent.  In order for the professional world to be more accepting of the modified community, this inherent bias has to be overcome.

This website was established for two main reasons.  The first is to create a repository of information about modified individuals, prevalence of tattoos/piercings in our society, and legal issues surrounding modifications in the workplace.  The second is to create a community of modified individuals who share a goal of purposefully altering public opinion of the average modified person by becoming a visible, positive model to the community at large.  Hopefully, by achieving these two goals, we can alter public perception enough to prevent the negative stereotype to being automatically applied to us through the first impression.
