About Your Teacher:
My name is Jennifer Henson and I am currently a senior at Western Michigan University.
I am studying Secondary Education with a major in English and a minor in Communications. For the last few semesters I have immersed myself fully into becoming a teacher, studying different teaching styles and getting experience in the classroom in the Kalamazoo Area. Besides working towards my degree, I am extremely involved on Westerns campus. I am currently a Resident Assistant in Davis Hall and I love working with students on a daily basis.
For four years I have been a member of the Bronco Colorguard, marching at every football game. I hope to continue this interest in Colorguard by working as a coach and encouraging the performing arts with my students. I was always very active in high school and college and hope that I will be able to instill that want in my students as well. For me, that involves being active in my school and with my students. Besides Colorguard, I was a Varsity Swimmer/Diver in High school, and have worked as an Ellis and Associates certified Lifeguard for three years. I would love to work as a Swim Coach and encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities.
I have also been involved with the Walt Disney Company, participating in the Disney College Program and working as a Disney Campus Rep on Westerns campus. Both of these experiences have given me the opportunity to explore my leadership abilities and understand what it means to be a part of a team, not to mention increase my love for Disney and it's theme parks.
My personal life has been exciting as well. I am just recently engaged to the boy I've been with for over three years. We are very excited to start our life together and I'm just as excited to get into the classroom.
