Mateu Servera (Can Teuler, Manacor, 1965), PhD, is a senior lecturer from the Department of
Psychology at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) since 1993. His dissertation (PhD Thesis) was on "Modification onf Reflection-Impulsivity and academic achievement at school from cognitive strategies instrucction approach" (1992). He belongs to the area (or subdepartment) of "Personality, Assessment and Psychological
Treatments" and he is currently lecturing "Children Behavior Therapy"
and "Child Psychopatology", as
well as post-graduate courses on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). He was
subdirector of the Institute of Educational Sciences (at the UIB), and
from 1997 to 1999 he was head of the Evaluation Technical Office, from
where the first evaluation and quality improvement plans of the UIB
started. He was Head of Departament of Psychology from 2001 to 2007. He was also Director of Research Promotion at the UIB from April, 27, 2007 to 13, May, 2008. And, actually (since May, 13, 2008), he is Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs and European Convergence at the UIB.
He have started some professional and research initiatives as, for example, the UAPI (a "childrens' counselling unit" for assessment and treatment).
